Our patrons called it one of the most comfortable, intimate spaces in San Francisco. We played on a simple thrust stage backed by “virtual sets” projected on a 20-by-15-foot screen, and the seating and stage could be moved and reset in many different arrangements. Visitors enjoyed a glass from our gift wine bar and refreshments with every show.

We were one of the first theaters in the area to use full-color, highly energy-efficient, computer-controlled LED lighting, run from an iPad at our desk, all topped off with a full-surround digital sound system.

Besides our own productions, the Alcove served as a performance, workshop and acting-class space for other small San Francisco companies.
